I grew up in Monterey County. When I was 15 my family moved to the outskirts of Boulder, Colorado. I finished high school in Colorado and moved to Orange County to attend college where I studied Psychology.
I financed my college education by working in the Veterinary industry and found it to be so satisfying that I continued to work in the service of our furry friends. I was drawn to their sweet innocence and I feel fortunate to have witnessed the connections that people share with their pets who are often our best friends and even surrogate children.
In 2000 I moved back to Monterey to help care for my elderly grandmother. In 2003 I took a position at California State University Monterey Bay in the Athletics Department. As a Business Operations Manager I satisfy my love of solving unique problems in a dynamic environment and enjoy the opportunity to mentor student athletes in order to support positive growth in Academics, Personal Development, Career, Athletic Development and Community Service.
Although I have not had children of my own, working with students who are spreading their wings and finding their path in life has given me the joy of having many young adults in my life that are like family to me. I learn as much from these young adults as they learn from me and the special moments that they allow me to be a part of will be in my memory and heart for a lifetime.
As a Lyssabeths Monterey Bay Wedding Officiant, I'm given a similar opportunity. As a wedding officiant I get to play a role in the time honored tradition that binds two people together in love, trust, respect, fidelity, honesty and family. I believe, through personal experience, that love will not be restricted by race, gender or location and I am honored to play a role in the union of others who have discovered this secret.
